Do It Yourself-

Once upon a time, website owners had to go back, request, and pay for even the littlest changes from their website designer. We don't think your website should be that way. We have a few ways of giving you control over the content of your own site, so you can keep it updated and fresh. Unlike other site-building and editing systems, ours are all "search-engine-friendly" and won't keep you from doing well in the search engine rankings With us, you're free to change the site whenever and however you want. Big additions or sitewide appearance changes you may need us to do- but those are a lot of work for non-technical people in the first place.

Hosting-
First, why not just email us for our handout that straightens out all these web concepts? We give you a handy beginner's reference to hosting, domains, certificates, site design, search rank boosting, and more. We explain the different things you need to get a website going, and what you should expect from the provider of each. Make sure you're an informed consumer, that you get the tools and information to have an effective website, and that you don't pay four times what's fair simply because it's a not an area you know. .

Our hosting plans are reasonably priced, give you more than enough resources, and are utterly full-service. You have a personal contact for a national support structure. You get a Control Panel (link) that gives you immediate control over every aspect of your internet domain. Rather than call and request a change from your site host, you can change email accounts, passwords, login to web mail, change passwords, set up file transfer sites, upload new pictures or text, all from within your familiar web program. And most important, you can check your site traffic, see what works for you, what doesn't, and how your other advertising is paying off.

It's Always Your Site - We never keep a client from controlling their own domain or website (if you're not sure of the difference, see the first paragraph). We recommend that people register their own domain name themselves so ownership is crystal clear, but we will register a domain for someone if requested. Each site owner is told theirControl Panel login and password, their FTP login and password, and if we've registered the domain name , we're always happy to transfer it to an account they set up. If your current site provider hasn't given you all this information, they should have. If you don't have it and would like to find out, we can do that for you, and help you regain control of your own website.

Think of every joke and complaint ever you've heard about computers- we've all heard them, and we all understand them. Now think about this- Apple Macintosh users almost always love their computers.

That tells you more than anything we can say.

People usually give two reasons not to get an Apple Macintosh. 1) Macs cost more, and 2) some software, particularly industry-specific software, only runs on Windows. Since you can run Windows at full speed on a Mac, though, perhaps there's only one reason.

And since one bad virus infection or cheap computer repair can equal the price difference between a Mac and PC, perhaps there aren't any.

Yes, we sell home computers too. Good ones. If you think "the specs"- speed in GHz, GB of RAM, TB of hard drive- define a computer and you just need the lowest price, we're not for you.

If you get a desktop computer from us, here's what it will have:

it will have a three year, no-quibbling, parts and labor warranty you can have honored locally.

It will have knowledgable, native English-speaking, toll-free technical support.

It will have industry standard hardware, with no expensive proprietary parts. This will make upgrades and repairs easy, available, inexpensive, and (upgrades only) almost unlimited.

It will have the most reliable, not least expensive, parts we know of, and we know the best.

It will have written instructions on staying virus-free.

It will have almost any custom design features you want.

And most important, it will have been chosen to be a sensible computer for you.

Here's what it won't have:

Load of "free" offers, trial versions, and advertising software you need "optimize" away by paying extra even before you take it home.

It won't have Mac OS if you want Windows. It won't have Windows if a Mac is better for you (unless you want Windows on your Mac too!).

It won't have an AMD processor. Sorry, AMD fans. If you want to know why, read our Intel v.s. AMD sidebar.

It won't have a an onsite mail-order warranty that requires you to spend hours on the phone before they agree to send a tech, or ship it away and wait weeks for repairs.

It won't have an in-store warranty where it may take a few tries for them to actually fix the problem.

It won't have any sort of warranty that fixes the computer but loses your data.

It won't have "bleeding-edge" software or hardware that you end up regretting. Here are just some of the things we've warned our customers away from:

It won't have an inflated price tag. We're not the cheapest, but we're always a fair value. We regularly beat the mail-order leader on all but their lowest-end computers.

It won't have been sold because it was what someone had in stock to sell to you that day.

So call us. If you don't want to get a system from us, we'll at least give you good advice on what to look for and what to avoid, what matters and what doesn't. But we think you'll want to get your computer from us.
